The Upcycling Convention (UpCon) is a platform to connect designer-makers of the upcycling movement with customers, companies, and policymakers, as well as with educational institutions, teachers, and students. We aim to make upcycling more relevant for society as a whole! UpCon seeks to promote sustainable lifestyles and economic practices based on reuse, repair, upcycling, and the sharing economy!

Lectures, talks, and discussion opportunities encouraging how to save resources. The goal of this upcycling congress is to promote sustainable lifestyles and economic practices based on reuse, repair, upcycling, and the sharing economy.
The conference will be held in English.
Keynotes
REFUNC (NL/DE)
Design collective/laboratory: Everything can become something else. Refunc experiments and builds architecture, interiors and installations in public space from industrial waste materials.
NEW IS OVER (IT)
Social cooperative: Rescuing old clothes and turning them into unique collections with handmade individual pieces in the textile laboratory of the social cooperative Insieme.
OFFCUT (CH)
Material markets: They collect and sell used and residual materials in Switzerland to turn them into desirable materials again.
Discussion with UP_ERITIVO
The keynotes are followed by a guided discussion with players from the upcycling sector. Hereafter, we invite you to network and exchange ideas at UP_ERITIVO (until 22:00).

UPCYCLING AND 2ND HAND MARKET
Market from 11:00-18:00 with players from the upcycling and second-hand scene in South Tyrol and beyond, including RENARRO, GEL ZUN, JOSEFINE DESIGN, SOALMATTE, RIBISL DESIGN, CHRI.CREA, NEW IS OVER and for the first time upcycling products from the REX – Material und Dinge / Materiali e cose workshop.

REFUNC Upcycling Workshop
This year we are organizing a workshop with the design collective REFUNC (www.refunc.nl). Over three days, Denis Oudendijk (NL) and Jan Körbes (DE) will share their upcycling skills to explore unusual objects and jointly develop re-use functional objects that will be presented during the UpCon festival.
